Jumpshoting
This first tip will improve your gunfights versus your enemies, there are two ways to get those sweet jumpshot kills that leave your enemies screaming through the mic.
The first way (and easiest to learn) would be sprinting round the corner, jumping and aim down sight simultaneously. I’m sure you’ve met players that do this, however it is fairly easy to counter. Let’s say an opponent has been doing this throughout the match, all you’d need is a shotgun or sniper (or any other one shot gun) to stop them in their tracks.
The second way involves a tactical sprint AKA the fast sprint (double tap the sprint button on console) which means you would come round the corner at a faster speed and as a result jump a greater distance. I prefer this method because if an opponent was aimed down watching the corner, you’d be a much harder target to kill as they would off-guard and have to adjust their scopes (depending on how far you jump). The obvious con to this is, if the opponent comes round the corner and catches you in your tactical sprint, you won’t have enough time to aim your weapon.
The third and most challenging method might require some practice to get used to. This method is similar to the previous, but there’s an additional jump and you aim down earlier. First you sprint towards the corner, jump and aim almost simultaneously and as soon as you hit the ground jump again. The second jump adds some more distance, unless your opponent’s got some John Wick like reactions then they’ll probably find it challenging to track your movement because of the two jumps.
Make sure you’re aimed down on all of these methods, or at least have a gun with accurate hip fire.
Sliding
Sliding can be used in various ways, I find sliding to be best round corners. Sliding round corners beats just walking up to the door as you would most probably be at a different height than the opponent. Let me elaborate on that last point, If someone is standing aiming down the corner and you slide in, they would be aiming above you and probably won’t notice you until its too late. Sliding allows you to dodge bullets to an extent because chances are your opponent wouldn’t expect it and would probably miss majority of their shots.

What I like to do after sliding into corners is hip fire, because it reduces your TTK (Time To Kill) and if there’s multiple opponents you can easily adjust, however I advise you try this with guns that have accurate hip fire such as the MP5 or Uzi.
Another thing I like doing is going into a dropshot straight after the slide, this is a bit more challenging than a normal slide round a corner, but it’s unlikely your opponents are going to react quick enough to even get a few shots in. If you’re going to do this, you have to make sure you time it properly and don’t reveal too much of your body, a good rule of thumb is to reveal as much of your body as you would mounted on a corner.
Sliding can also be used down slopes or stairs as it increases your movement speed across the map, sliding down a ramp might only save you a second or two, however I you were flanking the enemy team, that one second could make all the difference.
Navigating Obstacles
So I had this problem when I started playing MW, where I’d want to jump on top of a wall but not over it but it’d keep taking me over. The solution to this simply pushing your analogue stick towards the wall (Make sure you don’t activate tactical sprint) and simply hopping over. This can be done sideways as well, you don’t have to be facing a wall to jump over it, this is helpful as it helps you get some shots off at an opponents trying to kill you from behind.
There are some spots in MW where you would need to jump on a smaller obstacle in order to get on top of a bigger one, which means you would have to perform two jumping animations, pretty much leaving you venerable. You can cut this time in half by double sprint (tactical) and jumping beforehand, this allows you to jump on the first obstacle directly and only do the animation on the second. Infinity Ward must have scanned Jordan or LaVine cause man these operators have got some mad jumps lol.
Strafe Jumping
If you thought MW operators could jump before, wait till you hear this tip. So instead of doing a normal run up before a jump, you should strafe, which is a snake like movement that allows you to jump greater distances. If done correctly it will look like you were sort of flung in the direction you turned to last. This trick takes a while to perfect so don’t’ be too discouraged if you don’t get It on your first try.
